Our Recommendations

We have clients inquire about Africa every week. Things you may want to consider when booking an Africa holiday include:

1) Size of the group – how many people are you sharing a vehicle and lodging with
2) Type of vehicles – what type of vehicles are used for safaris and what sort of visibility can you expect
3) Accommodation type – accommodation can range from basic camping to five star lodges and everything in between.
4) Distance from wildlife – how far is your accommodation from the wildlife. Will you need to drive for hours every day just to get to the safari park.

Here are just a few our recommendations on some fantastic starting points for your Africa adventure.

1. Botswana Adventure Tours

Bronny describes this as the most amazing place in the world! And she has seen a lot of the world to compare it to. Botswana is the Africa of African dreams.

With the year-round water supply of the Okavango Delta and Chobe River, these fertile grounds are rich with wildlife, giving you spectacular animal encounters.

2. South Africa Safaris and Tours

More than a land of safaris and the Big Five, South Africa is a fascinating study in history and culture.
From the poignant battlefield history of Dundee to sharing a traditional meal with the locals in Port Elizabeth, the diversity of this nation will surprise and delight the senses.

3. East Africa Travel

It is East Africa’s people that provide the surprise for many who visit this part of the world.  Most foreigners come with dreams of seeing lions, elephants and the great Africa plains.
But what they often take home is the memory of a story told by a Masai of an afternoon spent with local children at an orphanage.

4. Kilimanjaro Tours

Kilimanjaro, with its three volcanic cones, is the highest mountain in Africa and features on most climbers “to-do” lists. It’s a challenging ascent, but the 360-degree view is simply unrivalled in the world.

Speak to Bronny who has successfully completed this climb.

5. Rwanda Gorillas

With just over 740 mountain gorillas left in the wild, an up-close encounter with these majestic animals will be an unforgettable and emotional experience.
The trek to meet your gorilla family will take between 1-6 hours, through a combination of dense forest vegetation, slippery slopes and ever changing weather but the challenges are definitely worth overcoming!

5. Volunteering with Animals

If you want to get up and close with the wildlife of Africa, you could consider volunteering.  Louise spent a fortnight in Namibia working with baboons and meerkat and a month in Zimbabwe working with elephants and lion cubs.
Louise found the experience extremely rewarding as she got very close to the animals bonding and caring for them.

6. Cruising

For a completely different view of Africa, why not take an expedition cruise around the coast.  Wild Earth operate an amazing West Africa Expedition Cruise annually.
