Description
Glaciers, Humpback whales (and others), mountains, endless forest, a wealth of wildlife and plenty of activity and relaxation are the hallmarks of this cruise. Every day you will have the choice of walking in the forest with a guide, kayaking, exploring and looking for wildlife in a Zodiac, or relaxing on board while scouring the area for some of the spectacular wildlife.
We will spend a full day in Glacier Bay, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and Biosphere Reserve. A park ranger joins you on board as a font of knowledge, and we hope to see Sea lions, puffins, black oystercatchers, and other sea birds at South Marble Island. Mountain goats climb and bears scrounge for food along the park’s inland shores. Motor deeper into the park to Margerie and Grand Pacific, two tidewater glaciers on their downward march into the bay.
Cloud failure or liquid sunshine, our Alaska small ship adventure cruises are perfect for exploration—paddling, hiking, hot tub under the stars, “polar bear plunges,” even playing in the mud with your expert expedition team. Glacier Bay National Park; Native totems; breaching whales; soaring eagles; rainforests; northern lights. Do as much or as little as you like on an unforgettable journey.
