Description

This heady mix of islands and ports represents a fascinating itinerary combining as it does some ‘must see’ sites together with little known places that are a world away from the well-trodden tourist trail along with quiet spots and out-of-the way beaches which the Croats themselves escape to. As we make our way along the coast we will witness a range of scenic delights including the world-famous Kornati Islands and the delightful islands of Vis, Hvar and Korcula to name but a few. In addition to our included guided excursions, we have allowed ample time at leisure and there will also be opportunities to swim from the ship as we call into secluded bays and hidden coves and, taking advantage of our central moorings, to dine ashore and experience the atmospheric ports in their evening splendour.

Overview
Vessel Type: Small Ship Length: 40m Passenger Capacity: 36 Built/Refurbished: 2015 Built in 2015, this beautifully crafted vessel sails the Adriatic coast from Opatija to Kotor taking in the highlights of this stunning area. If you are looking for an escape from the formalities of the larger ships, then look no further than the Princess Eleganza. The atmosphere is casual and relaxed, with the dress code reflecting this. With just 36 like-minded passengers, the mood is intimate, and what better way to enjoy the views of magnificent islands and cities, than sitting on the Sun Deck watching the world pass slowly by. Part of the joy of a cruise aboard this vessel is its capability to dock in small ports or drop anchor in any suitable spot. Being such a small operation, the close knit team work excellently together and will enrich your overall enjoyment of small ship cruising. The 19 cabins are finished to the highest standard with sleek lines and neutral colours. All are equipped with a safe, air conditioning/heating, hair dryer, and flat screen TV. Each cabin also has an en-suite bathroom with shower, toilet, and basin. Most cabins also feature a dressing table and chair. Main Deck cabins have port holes, whilst Upper Deck cabins have small windows. The Promenade cabins have larger picture windows which offer panoramic views.

Itinerary

Day 1 - Day 1 London Heathrow to Opatija, Croatia.
Fly by scheduled flight to Zagreb and transfer to the Princess Eleganza moored in Opatija. After settling into your cabin, enjoy the welcome cocktail and dinner on board. We will moor overnight allowing time to enjoy an after dinner walk in this genteel resort.
Day 2 - Day 2 Rab.
We sail during breakfast for the island of Rab stopping for a swim on the way should the conditions allow. Arriving this afternoon we will enjoy some time at leisure and an early evening guided walk through the picturesque Old Town, a perfectly preserved late Medieval Adriatic settlement squeezed into a slender peninsula along which are dotted a sequence of Romanesque campaniles. We have the opportunity this evening to dine ashore and sample one of the many local restaurants and we will remain moored overnight in the harbour.
Day 3 - Day 3 Pag & Zadar.
This morning we cruise towards Zadar stopping at the island of Pag for a morning swim. Once a dominant city on the Adriatic coast rivalling Venice, Zadar is today a treasured city which has preserved its historical core. Enjoy an afternoon walking tour strolling around the old town with its Roman columns and portals, Romanesque churches and Renaissance and Baroque palaces. Of particular interest are the 9th century circular Church of St Donat and the 13th century Romanesque cathedral. In the evening we have the chance to dine in one of the many restaurants in Zadar as we moor overnight.
Day 4 - Day 4 Kornati Islands & Sibenik.
Spend the morning sailing by the islands that make up the Kornati archipelago, a wonder of natural beauty, coves and clear blue waters. George Bernard Shaw fell in love with the islands saying “On the last day of Creation God desired to crown His work, and thus created the Kornati islands out of tears, stars and breath.” We hope to stop at one of the islands for a swim before continuing to Sibenik where we enjoy an early evening walking tour through the historic town before having the chance to find a restaurant for dinner this evening.
Day 5 - Day 5 Krka Waterfalls & Hvar.
After breakfast on board, we visit the majestic waterfalls of Krka. We will take a guided walk on wooden walkways and across bridges through this unique fjord like landscape with its multiple waterfalls and interesting flora and fauna. Sail after lunch to Hvar arriving at our berth at Stari Grad this evening where we enjoy a barbeque dinner on deck.
Day 6 - Day 6 Hvar & Pakleni Islands.
After breakfast we take a brief walking tour of the Old Town of Hvar including the main square, which is the largest piazza in Dalmatia, the cathedral, the Franciscan Monastery and the Benedictine Nunnery, where we hear about the aloe lace still produced today by the nuns. We will leave Hvar during lunch and spend some time this afternoon at anchor in one of the private bays on the Pakleni Islands, a series of stunning wooded isles located off the coast of Hvar. Take a swim or enjoy the beautiful views before sailing to Vis for our overnight berth. Take the chance to dine ashore this evening.
Day 7 - Day 7 Vis & Lastovo Island.
This morning we depart for an island tour of Vis. The island spent much of its recent history serving as a Yugoslav military base, cut off from foreign visitors from the 1950s right up until 1989. This isolation preserved it from development, and today it offers an authentic tranquility and unique beauty. We return to the ship for lunch and sail to the Lastovo archipelago, made up of 13 islands and recognised as a Nature Park. We will take the chance to swim in one of the islands bays where we will stay at anchor overnight.
Day 8 - Day 8 Lastovo Island & Korcula.
Sail this morning and enjoy another swim off Lastovo Island before we arrive, over lunch, in Korcula, the reputed birthplace of the explorer Marco Polo. A guided tour will include a walk along Korcula’s crooked Medieval streets to the elegant squares which are flanked with palaces of the old nobility. Enjoy dinner ashore as we moor overnight.
Day 9 - Day 9 Jakljan & Dubrovnik.
We set sail this morning towards the mainland and if weather permits will make a final swimming stop at the uninhabited island of Jakljan in the Elafiti Islands. We continue to Dubrovnik, the “Pearl of the Adriatic“, where we arrive after lunch. After a short drive to Pile Gate, enjoy an afternoon guided walk through the unique Medieval Old Town of Dubrovnik, which was added to the UNESCO World Heritage List in 1979. See the major attractions such as the Rector’s Palace, the Romanesque- Gothic Dominican and Franciscan Monasteries and the Sponza Palace. Return to the ship for our farewell dinner on board this evening.
Day 10 - Day 10 Dubrovnik to London Gatwick.
Disembark this morning and transfer to the airport for our scheduled flight to London.
Day 11 - Please Note:
Itineraries are subject to change.
