An enchanted farewell to Venice
No other farewell is as romantic and melancholic as the route taken by the Sea Cloud as it leaves the Floating City. Our tall ship slowly sails past all of Venice’s famous buildings and offers a panoramic view of the magnificent St Mark’s Square, the Campanile, the Bridge of Sighs and
the Doge’s Palace.

Split – the Adriatic metropolis
Split was originally established as a retirement home for the Roman Emperor Diocletian. However, his palace, which took only ten years to build, soon encompassed two main roads, a number of villas, military and civilian constructions and several sacred buildings. This historical complex covers an area of roughly 30,000 square metres (323,000 square feet) and now stands at the centre of the beautiful old town. It undoubtedly deserves its title as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Culinary Istria
Even in ancient times, Istrian olives were famed for their special flavour. Nowadays, the region’s multi-award winning olive oil is prized by connoisseurs. Also much sought after among gourmets is the “white gold”, otherwise known as the white truffle. On a culinary excursion you will experience many of the region’s specialities.

An ancient multicultural city: Trieste
Trieste’s colourful history is reflected in its cuisine: From “palatschinken” to souvlaki, prosciutto to baccalà
mante-cato, the town has seen the culinary influences from Austria, Istria and Greece. Trieste has long been considered a cultural melting pot; once a key port on the Slovenian border, it used to attract merchants from all over the world.

Hutton in the 1930’s. The ship has played host to royalty, known service in wartime, and sailed the world over. She is a vessel of incomparable grace that harks back to the golden age of ship travel. Once you’ve been on Sea Cloud under full sail, you’ll begin your own love affair. Welcome aboard a legend Sea Cloud accommodates 58 guests in 28 outside cabins including two original owner’s suites that still feature original marble baths and fireplaces. At 360 feet she is an expansive ship with extensive public spaces on the top deck, where we luxuriate in deck chairs and watch the crew of 18 go aloft in the web of riggings to hand-set her 30 sails. Her dining room is hung with marine oil paintings of the period and accommodates all guests at once for a single seating. We’ll gather in the lounge each evening for Recap. Life aboard is a uniquely pleasing mix of elegance and informality—a return to the golden age of sailing in shorts and deck shoes. Day 1 - Day 1 - Venice/Italy
Guests arrive individually in Venice.Embarkation on the Sea Cloud. The floating city of Venice sits on millions of wooden piles and more than 400 bridges cross 150 canals. No other city possesses such an abundance of stunningly beautiful churches, monasteries, palaces and artistic treasures, and nowhere else has plaster that crumbles so elegantly. Venice is a unique work of art and, with its lagoon, is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The gateway to the city is probably the most magical of any in the world. Slowly and majestically you glide past the proud palaces along the Grand Canal and the Basilica di Santa Maria della Salute, giving you a long look at the fairytale setting of St Mark's Square with the Doge's Palace and Campanile.

Day 3 - Day 3 - Split/Croatia
Dalmatia is the southernmost region of Croatia, and Split is its most beautiful cultural centre and secret capital. Gothic, Romanesque, Venetian, Roman and Baroque - a stroll through the old city of Split is like a journey through time. Diocletian's Palace, once the Emperor's retirement retreat, is at the heart of the beautiful old city, which is also a UNESCO World Heritage Site. A vast palace complex of around 30,000 square metres (322,917 square foot) was erected in just 10 years at the end of the 3rd century AD. Day 4 - Day 4 - Korcula/Croatia
The Adriatic island of Korcula is one of the greenest in the region. Vineyards and olive groves stretch across rolling hills. The island's main town of the same name is protected by a city wall. It is one of the best-preserved medieval Mediterranean towns. Some buildings evoke the time when the maritime power of Venice ruled. Tintoretto is immortalised in the cathedral, and in one of the narrow streets you can search for the house where Marco Polo was born.Optional Excursion - Walk through Korcula’s old town/enjoy islandspecialities.
Day 5 - Day 5 - Trogir/Croatia
Optional City walking tour.
Day 6 - Day 6 - Rovinj/Croatia
Rovinj lies on the western coast of Istria. The old town was built on a hill and was part of the Republic of Venice for over 500 years. St Euphemia's Basilica sits above the terracotta roofs in solitary splendour and its tower has become the town's landmark. A stroll through the winding lanes transports you straight into the Mediterranean lifestyle and the region's culinary delights. Istrian wines seem to embody the sun's rich heat, the oak forests conceal precious white truffles and the region's olive oil is among the finest in the world.Optional Excursion to the Istrian countryside and tasting of regional specialities.
Day 7 - Day 7 - Trieste/Italy
Optional City tour including visit to Miramare Castle.
Day 8 - Day 8 - Venice/Italy
Disembarkation. Guests return home individually.
