Itinerary



Day 1 - Day 1. Santa Cruz
Arrival at Baltra and transfer to Puerto Ayora. Visit the Fausto Llerena Tortoise Breeding Center, home to hatchlings and adult giant tortoises, along with finches and rails. Afternoon embarkation aboard the Sea Star.
Day 2 - Day 2. Isabela
Morning excursion to Tintoreras Islet to spot white-tip reef sharks, penguins, marine iguanas and sea lions. Later, hike the Sierra Negra Volcano for sweeping views of the vast caldera, followed by a visit to the Wetlands with lagoons, mangroves and flamingos.
Day 3 - Day 3. Isabela
At Moreno Point walk across dramatic lava fields with tide pools that attract flamingos, gallinules, pintail ducks and turtles. In the afternoon, explore Elizabeth Bay by dinghy or kayak, with chances to spot penguins, blue-footed boobies, rays and sea turtles among the mangroves.
Day 4 - Day 4. Fernandina & Isabela
Land at Espinoza Point on Fernandina to see marine iguanas, sea lions, penguins and the rare flightless cormorant. Cross to Tagus Cove on Isabela, an anchorage used since the 1800s, with trails to Lake Darwin and views of volcanic landscapes.
Day 5 - Day 5. Santiago
Visit Espumilla Beach, where sea turtles nest and herons hunt Sally Lightfoot crabs. Then explore Buccaneer Cove, a former pirate refuge with red sand cliffs and seabirds. At Egas Port, walk past lava lizards, fur seals and tidal pools, and snorkel with reef sharks, rays and turtles.
Day 6 - Day 6. San Cristobal
Morning visit to Lobos Island, a lively sea lion colony also home to frigate birds, Nazca and blue-footed boobies. After this excursion, transfer to San Cristobal airport for your return flight to the mainland.
