Day 1 - Day 1 Palmeira/Sal/Cape Verde
Departure 19.00 hrsBegin your summer in spring with Cape Verde. The HANSEATIC inspiration will set sail for the most beautiful islands, which are perfect for active explorers and offer numerous excursions and opportunities for individual explorations. Sal, the sun-drenched island, is a golden gem.
Day 2 - Day 2 Santiago/Cape Verde
The largest Cape Verde island is Santiago, the archipelago’s history book with the most diverse landscape of all the islands. The historic island capital of Cidade Velha* bears witness to the era of the slave trade and features an impressive fortress in the French style. On a city tour of Praia*, elegant villas and colourful markets exude European flair and African roots.

Day 4 - Days 4 - 7 Cape Verde (Fogo , Santo Antao, Sao Vicente, Sao Nicolao )
Fogo, the “fire island”, is dominated by the Pico do Fogo at a height of over 2,800 m (9,186 ft). Explore the fire island’s volcanic landscape* on a tour to the edge of the caldera. Alternatively, take a walk through Sao Filipe* and marvel at the picturesque capital with its numerous colonial houses. Experience Santo Antao and its subtropical and tropical vegetation up-close on a walk through the verdant Paul Valley*. The route is the destination when you head off-road through canyons and along the Atlantic coast to explore the “wild west” in a jeep*. Sao Vicente is known as a melting pot of cultures. See for yourself on the promenade and in the African market and old town when you explore Mindelo on foot*. A hike to Salamansa* takes you through a lunar landscape to a small village on the north coast. The pristine island of Sao Nicolao is rarely visited. The dreamy fishing village of Tarrafal is the starting point for a walk through the bizarre mountain world*. This offers perhaps the most beautiful views of the archipelago and vegetation such as banana trees and papayas. The colourful houses of Ribeira Brava, an island capital with history*, are surrounded by picturesque mountains: first a bishop’s seat, then home to a prison, now it is simply beautiful. Day 6 - Day 10 Santa Cruz/Tenerife/Spain
From 10.00 to 19.00 hrsThe Canary Islands – seemingly familiar, but constantly surprising. Enjoy vibrant Tenerife on a stroll through the city. Head up through various climates and vegetation zones to Canadas del Teide National Park*. With more than 50 native plants, the flora and fauna around Spain’s highest mountain will draw you under their spell. A hike in the Anaga mountain range* will lead you right to its green heart. In typical laurel forests, you will feel as though you are in a tropical jungle.
Day 7 - Day 11 Puerto de la Estaca/El Hierro
From 8.00 to 17.00 hrsThe smallest of the Canary Islands offers the greatest diversity: El Hierro – the UNESCO Biosphere Reserve* entices with its laid-back capital, Valverde, and breathtaking views of the Roque de Bonanza. The scent of old eucalyptus forests is equally striking in the hiker’s paradise of El Hierro*. Get up-close to the obvious and hidden beauties of the Madeira archipelago.
Day 8 - Day 12 Selvagem Grande/Madeira/Portugal
The island of Selvagem Grande lies beyond the usual routes. Subject to official approval, you will walk across the “wild island” with conservationists to find out about geckos, Scopoli’s shearwaters and endemic plants.
Day 9 - Day 13 Porto Santo & Funchal/Madeira/Portugal
From 8.00 to 17.00 hrs, Funchal/Madeira/Portugal arrival 22.00 hrs Overnight stay on boardPorto Santo may be famous for its kilometre-long sandy beach, but its mountain landscapes are even more spectacular – find out for yourself when you go off-road on an island tour in an all-terrain vehicle*.
