Itinerary

Day 1 - Day 1 Santa Cruz/Tenerife/Spain
Departure 21.00 hrs
Day 2 - Day 2 El Hierro/Spain
First a daring feat, now a legendary journey – crossing the Atlantic is a dream cruise for true seafarers and nautical fans. As one of the first guests on the HANSEATIC inspiration, experience the magic of the ocean on this transatlantic passage. Your first destination is El Hierro, the smallest of the Canary Islands. El Hierro – the UNESCO Biosphere Reserve* entices with its laid-back capital, Valverde, and a breathtaking viewpoint overlooking the Roque de Bonanza. The scent of old eucalyptus forests is equally striking during a hike on El Hierro*.
Day 3 - Days 3 - 4 Relaxation at sea

Day 4 - Days 5 - 9 Cape Verde (Sao Nicolao , Santiago, Fogo , Sao Vicente, Santo Antao)
A warm welcome awaits you on sunny Cape Verde. On the first island, Sao Nicolao, spectacular rugged landscapes promise unforgettable experiences. The small fishing village of Tarrafal is ideal for you to explore on your own and it is also the starting point for a guided walk through the bizarre mountain world*. Here you can savour what is probably one of the most beautiful views of the whole archipelago. The gorgeous island vistas* also feature areas of lush vegetation. Marvel at the banana trees, papayas and dragon trees, all against a striking mountain backdrop, before Santiago – the largest Cape Verde island – draws you under its spell with the European look and African culture of its capital, Praia. Get to know Santiago – the lush island* with impressions of its bustling markets. Cidade Velha was the site of an important chapter in colonial history: travel from the new to the old capital* on an excursion to the former commercial centre of Santiago – its pillory a gloomy relic from the former slave market. The volcanic island of Fogo presents a fascinating contrast. This entire island in the south of the archipelago is a mighty volcano surrounding the Pico de Fogo, the highest mountain on Cape Verde. Discover bizarre lava formations in the fire island’s volcanic landscape* that will come to resemble figures as your imagination takes flight. On the coast you will find black lava beaches scattered with colourful fishing boats, while a walk through Sao Filipe* allows you to immerse yourself in island life. Sao Vicente is a cultural melting pot. Take a walking tour of Mindelo* and be enthralled by its diversity, activity and the Torre de Belem, a replica of Lisbon’s landmark. Go off-road* and experience the island in an all-terrain vehicle with spectacular views of imposing volcanic craters and mountain massifs. The striking mountains earned Santo Antao the name “island of mountains”. The lush landscape conceals wonderful paths for exploration – including the pristine island of Santo Antao with a hike*. A spectacular trail will reveal the fertile Paul Valley. Take a scenic journey on Santo Antao* and discover the vast interior of the inactive Cova volcano and its crater. Deeply moved by these experiences, you will soon be crossing the Atlantic.
Day 5 - Days 10 - 15 Relaxation at sea
Expand your horizons on this unforgettable crossing and feel the wind in your hair – keep your eyes and ears open for the wonders of the ocean and fascinating background knowledge from the experts on board. Use this time to savour the comforts of the HANSEATIC inspiration to the full: enjoy the expanse of the ocean and the light from the Panorama Deck, relax in the wellness area or relish some culinary highlights – true inspiration for all your senses.
Day 6 - Day 16 Bridgetown/Barbados
Arrival 13.00 hrs Overnight stay on boardIdyllic views await you on Barbados. Fine sandy beaches invite you to bask in the sun and chic houses tell of the colonial past – particularly in the old town of Bridgetown, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. This is just one of many moving moments before you reflect on your spectacular cruise across the Atlantic all over again as you sleep: in a Caribbean night on board the HANSEATIC inspiration.
