Description

A classic Croatia cruise along the Adriatic Coast of Croatia. Starting in the magical city of Dubrovnik we will explore the coast and islands on our ‘floating boutique hotel’. We will try some of the finest cuisine, starting with the seafood and local wines in Ston before heading to Mljet National Park, nd St Mary’s Monastery set on an island on a lake on an island. We stop in Korcula – a beautiful walled town and birthplace of Marco Polo before visiting the outlying and less visited island of Vis, closed to the outside world until 1989. Finally we visit the lively ‘jetset’ port of Hvar before heading to the fantastic city of Split, dominated by the Roman Emperor Diocletian’s palace.

We spend most morning’s cruising and stopping in small bays for a swim, and most afternoon’s are left for exploring our destination and the evenings for exploring the restaurants and cafes of these lovely ports and towns.

Overview
Aurora, built in 2011, is 48 metres long and has 19 air conditioned cabins all with en suite facilities. She has a comfortable restaurant and lounge bar, an outdoor covered sitting area, spacious sun deck and a swimming platform.  Upper DeckThe upper deck has 1 cabin with a Queen bed or twin beds Main DeckThere are 10 cabins on the main deck that have Queen bed or twin beds Lower DeckThe lower deck contains 8 cabins with Queen bed or twin beds. Cabins on the lower deck have portholes while main and upper deck cabins have windows.  

Itinerary



Day 1 - Day 1. Dubrovnik
Transfer from Dubrovnik Airport to Dubrovnik Harbour where you will be welcomed by your cruise manager. Check in starts from 14:00h. If case your flight arrives earlier, you can drop you luggage at the vessel and go and enjoy enjoy the beautiful charm of Dubrovnik on your own till the check in time. After settling enjoy welcome reception onboard. Overnight in Dubrovnik.
Day 2 - Day 2. Dubrovnik - Elaphiti Islands - Slano
Breakfast onboard followed by guided tour of Dubrovnik's Old Town. After the tour of this stunningly intact walled city on the Adriatic Coast. Return to the ship and cruise to the Elaphiti Islands with plenty of time for swimming near one of the islands. As we continue our journey towards Slano, lunch will be served onboard. From Slano we will start our gastro adventure towards Ston, the gastronomic centre of the county. The town, surrounded by one of the longest fortified walls in the world, is surrounded by breathtaking scenery which, together with the picturesque city architecture, is a beautiful spot to spend the night. We will visit a local oyster farm in Ston where you will learn how oysters and mussels are cultivated in this region, and why they are so delicious. You can enjoy a rustic oyster and mussel tasting along with local wine under the shade of the trees. Overnight in Slano. (B, L T)
Day 3 - Day 3. Slano - Mljet
We sail to Mljet - the most beautiful and most forested island in the Adriatic and one of the most beautiful in the whole of the Mediterranean. Mljet is also well known for it’s two salted lakes - Veliko and Malo Jezero that are located at the north end of the island. The Benedictine monastery of St Mary's is located on an island on one of these lakes, a focal point of this National Park. Join the cruise manager on this magnificent to explore the National Park on foot, by bike or by boat and enjoy all the beauty Mljet has to offer. Overnight in port Pomena. (B, L)
Day 4 - Day 4. Mljet to Korcula
Early in the morning we cruise to the island of Korčula, rich in vineyards, olive groves and small villages with numerous bays and coves. We will stop for a swim in one of the beautiful bays, perfect to enjoy the beautiful atmosphere of the unspoiled nature, lush vegetation and crystal clear sea. Lunch onboard. Early afternoon arrival in Korčula, the birthplace of Marco Polo, and we shall be taken on an interesting tour along the winding streets of this lovely town. After the tour, enjoy some free time to sip a glass of local wine or coffee at an outdoor cafe, take a dip in the sea or just continue walking the streets. Overnight in Korčula. (B, L)
Day 5 - Day 5. Korcula to Vis
Vis is the most mysterious island in Croatia. For many years it was the military and naval headquarters of the Yugoslavian armed forces and was closed to the public until 1989. This meant that it has escaped large commercial development and has retained much of its natural beauty. This definitely explains why we love this island so much, the island which has retained its charm, resisted development and has become the world famous destination for real nature lovers and people seeking some new adventures.Tonight enjoy Captain’s dinner onboard. Day 6 - Day 6. Vis, Blue Cave, Hvar
Early in the morning we set sail to Hvar. But, before Hvar we will make a stop on Biševo Island to see a stunning natural phenomenon – the Blue Cave. The Blue cave is famous all over the world for its extraordinary, magical, silver-blue light. We continue our journey to Hvar, the longest and the sunniest island in Croatia. Upon arrival join the guided tour of Hvar and learn why this amazing town is a must see on historical map of the Croatia.Your evening is free to explore this lively spot by yourself. Note: In peak times, Hvar Harbour can be very busy and the harbourmaster directs some vessels to nearby Stari Grad because of the limited capacity of Hvar Harbour. In that case transfer to and from Hvar will be organized by for you. Stari Grad itself is a very pretty little town and harbour. (B, L)
Day 7 - Day 7. Hvar - Brac - Split
Early morning cruise to Brač where we will stop for a swim at Zlatni Rat beach- known as the Golden Horn - a long, golden, pebbly beach near Bol that extends straight out into the Adriatic. The beach protrudes over 500m into the Adriatic sea and is surrounded by deep blue water. The shape of the beach changes with the wind, a very unusual formation. Afterwards we head to our final port – Split. Upon arrival join the walking tour through Split with an expert guide who will bring the past to life and also tell you a lot about Split today. Stroll the streets of Split and learn many interesting facts that make this unique town’s history so full of intrigue. Split was founded more than 1700 years ago, by the Roman emperor Diocletian who chose this beautiful place for his retirement residence. His palace still dominated life in central Split and it is now a thriving part of the town centre, and amazing mix of ancient monuments, shops, houses, hotels, restaurants and daily life. Let the story of who he was and why he loved Dalmatia so much amaze you! Overnight in Split. (B, L)
Day 8 - Day 8. Disembark in Split
Disembark after breakfast and transfer to Split Airport.
