Ljubljana
We arrive into Ljubljana early in the afternoon, where we will be met and transferred to our hotel for the next 2 nights. There are no activities for the remainder of the day, so you are free to explore this beautiful city. Hotel check-in times are from approximately 3pm.
Day 3: Saturday 8th September
Ljubljana
Today Ljubljana is yours to explore. A green wooded hill, topped with a castle is the city’s centerpiece. Here you can while away the time close to nature; enjoy the city’s beautiful buildings; sit at one of the plethora of pavement cafes that line the cobblestoned streets of the old town and look out upon medieval buildings with their rose and russet roofs.
Meals included: breakfast
Day 4: Sunday 9th September
Radovljica
This morning we will travel by local train to Radovljica and make our way to our hotel. The remainder of the day is yours to enjoy. This perfectly preserved town of gothic and renaissance houses is an ideal base from which to start our tour of Slovenia. In the evening we meet our tour leader at a Welcome Meeting (this is usually at 6pm, but you will be advised as to the exact time and place in a notice, located near the reception at our hotel), where our leader will give a briefing on what lies ahead on our tour.
Radovljica will be our base for the next four nights. This charming town enjoys an idyllic setting overlooking the Dezela plain to one side, the Sava River valley on the other and with the majestic Julian Alps making the perfect backdrop. The medieval Old Town offers a wonderful mix of wonderfully restored buildings, narrow lane ways and quaint cafes.

There are 1200 different varieties of wildflowers in the area and from here we have magnificent open views across the valley to the Alps and along the ridge of the Karavanke Mountains (120kms). Once upon the ridge (1635m) we can see clearly over into Austria as we are standing in two countries. (Walking time: 5-6 hours / Altitude difference 650 metres)
