Our motorcoaches will take you to the Plains of Abraham at the point where the battle between the invading English forces and the defenders took place as they stormed Upper Town and captured the city. Then we’ll travel onward to pretty Place-Royale in Lower Town, which in 1759 was bombarded from across the river as fireships were dispatched toward the port. We will then drive out of the city to see the historical and majestic Montmorency Falls.

Day 5 - Day 5: Scenic Sailing on the St. Lawrence River
Serving as a partial boundary between the United States and Canada, the St. Lawrence River is an important route for trade and travel. It is fed by the world’s largest source of freshwater – the Great Lakes – beginning at the outflow of Lake Ontario near Kingston, and flowing northeast to the Gulf of St. Lawrence and the Atlantic Ocean. The river spans 744 miles, and widens significantly near Québec City to become the St. Lawrence estuary.
Day 6 - Day 6: Kingston, Ontario
Kingston, a former capital of the United Province of Canada and a center of culture and higher education, is now a modern small city along the shore of Lake Ontario at the start of the St. Lawrence River. From the pier, your excursion will include a historical overview of the city. You will also visit Bellevue House, which was built in the 1840s by a successful grocer, and was later home to Canada’s first prime minister, Sir John A. MacDonald. See the campus of Queen’s University, one of Canada’s foremost universities, founded in 1841 by the Church of Scotland and by Royal Charter from Queen Victoria. With more than 23,000 students, the university is organized into 10 undergraduate, graduate and professional faculties and schools. It was also the first university west of the Canadian Maritime provinces to allow women to study. We drive past the Gothic-styled St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Cathedral, built in 1826 with limestone quarried on the spot. It features rib-like buttresses along the east and west outer walls. St. George’s Anglican Cathedral, built in 1825, provides another glimpse into Kingston’s history. This cathedral is used by cadets and other members of the Royal Military College for worship and other special occasions.
Day 7 - Day 7: Toronto, Ontario
Upon our arrival in Toronto, guests will disembark the M/V Victory II on a half-day city tour that includes the Theatre District, the downtown business district and the Distillery District. Prominently situated facing the sparkling waters of Lake Ontario, this vibrant, multicultural, entertaining city is Canada’s largest. Originally inhabited by indigenous First Nations, the area was settled by the British in 1793, being renamed York. During the War of 1812, York suffered great damage. The town was renamed Toronto in 1834, and is now the capital of Ontario. Our walking tour will include historic St. Lawrence Market and Berczy Park. Stroll by the former Gooderham & Worts Distillery. After lunch onboard, guests will have the option of taking a guided tour of either the Art Gallery of Ontario or the Royal Ontario Museum. Or guests may choose to explore Toronto on their own.

The original Welland Canal opened in 1829, and was extended to reach Lake Erie in 1833. The current canal was completed in 1932, and boasts eight locks. At Niagara Falls, we’ll embark on the famous Hornblower Voyage to the Falls for a cruise into the misty spray of Horseshoe Falls. Back ashore, we’ll drive along the scenic Niagara Parkway through the Niagara Wine Region, home to 25 vineyards and over 50 wineries, to the charming Château des Charmes for lunch and wine tasting. After lunch, we’ll continue to Niagara-on-the-Lake to explore the shops and galleries before rejoining the ship at Port Weller.
Day 9 - Day 9: Cleveland, Ohio
Located on the shores of Lake Erie, Cleveland represents the heartland of American life and history. Industrial landmarks from its days as a lakeside manufacturing town still stand in testament to Cleveland’s roots. But the city of today is also filled with beautiful urban spaces, and is home to the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame. There, you’ll discover more than just a museum of music memorabilia. In the afternoon, you’ll explore the evolution of the genre that shaped a generation, and track its cultural impact. Among the exhibits are Janis Joplin’s psychedelic Porsche and Michael Jackson’s famous glove.
