From AUD $7,570

Description

From Saint Martin to Cuba, succumb to the charms of the Caribbean aboard an 11-day cruise.

This all-new itinerary aboard Le Ponant will be your opportunity to enjoy unforgettable swims in exceptional turquoise-water lagoons and bays lined with palm trees.

Your ship will set sail from Saint Martin, a small cosmopolitan island that is half French, half Dutch.

Located between the Lesser Antilles and the Greater Antilles, the British Virgin Islands are composed of some sixty islands, most of which are uninhabited. From Virgin Gorda, discover The Baths National Park and its huge blocks of granite, surrounded by caves and rock pools. Next, explore Jost Van Dyke, where we will stop for a relaxing swim.

Further west, Le Ponant will drop anchor in the Dominican Republic. In addition to its superb beaches lined with coconut trees, this country is home to myriad lesser-known treasures such as forests, mountains, fishing villages and sugar cane fields.

You will then sail to Cuba, famous for its music and its cigars. After a day spent in Antilla, immerse yourself in the unique atmosphere of Havana, the lively and colourful capital whose old districts are sure to captivate you with their colonial architecture.

Its streets are full of traditional Creole houses called “cases”, dating from the 19th century, as well as numerous luxury boutiques and artists workshops. Overlooking Marigot bay, opposite Anguilla, Fort Louis is an ideal place for a view of Simpson bay lagoon and the surrounding green mountains. For walkers, a beautiful route starting from Fort-Louis marina, and passing through the market, is a great way to visit this laid-back town and its picturesque charms.

The hilly landscape offers travelers beautiful wild expanses lined with immaculate beaches where the breeze gently caresses the coconut palms. This is a slice of paradise with crystal-clear waters, where dolphins often join us, amusing themselves with some bow riding. Here, colors and scents are omnipresent: yellow cedar is the archipelago’s emblem, while hibiscuses and frangipani bloom a little everywhere. As for the wildlife, iguanas, mongooses, pelicans and blue herons have taken up residence on these islands, much to the delight of our passengers who love a good holiday snap!
