Overview
Vessel Type: Motor Yacht Length: 35 m Passenger Capacity: 16 Built/Refurbished: 2013 Majestic is a pleasurable way to get to know the Galapagos. This first-class, motorized yacht is 35 meters (115 feet) long and is especially designed to sail through these islands. Its common areas and suites have large picture windows to assure you grand vistas of the seascapes as you cruise from destination to destination. Throughout the expedition, you will dine on fine cuisine. At the end of a day of hiking and snorkeling, you can relax chat with your shipmates about your explorations in one of the spacious social areas. Up on the sundeck, you will have the opportunity to relax with a drink from the bar or soak in the Jacuzzi. As the yacht cruises to the next day’s destination, you’ll rest peacefully in one of the nine double cabins equipped with air conditioning and private bathroom with hot water. Majestic offers excellent four-, five- and eight-day itineraries. On hand are certified naturalist guides to answer your questions and nine crewmembers to attend to your needs.

Itinerary



Day 1 - Day 1 - San Cristobal
In the morning, you will arrive at San Cristobal Island. After passing through immigration and baggage claim,you will be met by the Majestic staff and transferred to the yacht. You will be guided to your cabin where youwill have some time to settle in before lunch and a welcome briefing.In the afternoon, you will visit the Breeding Center Jacinto Gordillo “Galapaguera” Colorado Hill. It isa new visitor site in the southest part of San Cristobal Island and can now be reached in roughly one hour byroad from Puerto Baquerizo Moreno. On the trees and shrubs surrounding the site, you may see land birds likewarblers, finches and mockingbirds. Giant tortoises can be observed on the trails. They live there wild but ina protected area to ensure their survival by sealing them off from introduced predators like pigs and goats.
Day 2 - Day 2 - Santa Fe Island & South Plaza Island
In the morning, you will visit Santa Fe Island (Barrington) which is home to a small, picturesque bay alsonamed Santa Fe. The bay has two visitor trails, one leading to a scenic viewpoint atop a cliff, and the otherspanning from a small beach to a tall prickly pear cactus forest.In the afternoon, you will head to South Plaza Island. This small island with steep cliffs was formed by risinglava and is now covered by Opuntia cacti. It is also home to one of the largest sea lion colonies as well ascolourful yellow and red land iguanas. The most characteristic plant is the Sesuvium. During the rainy seasonits colour is a greenish to yellowish tone and in the dry season (end of June through January) a bright red.
Day 3 - Day 3 - Bartholomew Island & Santiago
In the morning, you will head to Bartholomew Island, home of the famous Pinnacle Rock. Bartholomewconsists of an extinct volcano with a variety of red, orange, black and even green volcanic formations. Wewill take a trail of stairs to the summit of the volcano (about 30 or 40 minutes) where you will enjoy one ofthe best views of the islands! You will also visit a small, beautiful beach surrounded by the only vegetationfound on this barren island. The beach is perfect for snorkeling where you may even see Galapagos penguins.In the afternoon, you will go to Egas Port, also known as James Bay, on Santiago Island which is home tothe curious Galapagos hawks and quick-footed Galapagos lava lizards. The trail leads to the coastline withgorgeous tide pools and grottos full of fauna. Here the Galapagos fur sea lions bathe in the sun. This is alsoa great snorkeling site.
Day 4 - Day 4 - Isabela
In the morning, you will visit Tagus Cove on Isabela Island which is located across from Fernandina Island,near the Bolivar Channel dividing the two islands. This spot has been frequented by ships since the 1800s, using the area as an anchorage site. Trails winding by Lake Darwin up to a ridge display wonderful views.Punta Tortuga, just north of Tagus Cove, is another lovely beach surrounded by mangroves.In the afternoon, you will go to Urbina Bay which is located at the base of Alcedo Volcano on the west coastbetween Tagus Cove and Elizabeth Bay. This area experienced a major uplift in 1954 causing the land to riseover 16 feet. The coast expanded half a mile out leaving marine life stranded on the new shore. This area isalso a great place for snorkeling.
Day 5 - Day 5 - Fernandina & Isabela
In the morning, crossing the Bolivar Channel that divides Isabela and Fernandina Islands, you will land atEspinosa Point, and after walking past a colony of marine iguanas and a group of sea lions, reach the island’shighlight: the flightless cormorant nesting site. This area provides a great opportunity to see the Galapagoshawk.In the afternoon, visit is at Vicente Roca Point Comprised of two separate coves, this site is a large bay withspectacular sea life. Keep an eye out for seahorses, sea turtles, and the strange yet fascinating Mola mola (orsunfish).
Day 6 - Day 6 - Santiago
In the morning, visit is to Espumilla Beach where marine iguanas lounge and the Sally Lightfoot crabs attractthe hunting herons performing the dance of predator and prey right before your eyes. Snorkeling is highlyrecommended as you could find yourself face to face with an octopus, moray eel, shark and a variety of otherspecies of tropical fish.In the afternoon, visit heads to Sullivan Bay located on the southeast part of Santiago. This place is interestingfor its geology because the area is covered by lava flows. This place has elevations in form of small volcanoes,formed by the lava flows.
Day 7 - Day 7 - Santa Cruz
In the morning, you will visit Bachas Beach, located on the north shore of Santa Cruz, is a swimming beach. Oneof the few remnants of the U.S. World War II presence in the Galapagos, a floating pier, can be seen here. You maysee flamingos, Sally Lightfoot crabs, hermit crabs, black-necked stilts, and whimbrels. Sea turtles also nest on thebeach.In the afternoon, you will visit “Fausto Llerena” Giant land tortoises breeding center.where giant tortoisesare bred in captivity; this is home to tortoises ranging from 3-inches (new hatchlings) to 4-feet long adults.Subspecies of the giant tortoises interact with one another, and many of the older tortoises are accustomedto humans stretching out their heads for a photo opportunity. The babies are kept until they are about fouryears-old and strong enough to survive on their own
Day 8 - Day 8 - San Cristobal
In the morning, you will visit Kicker Rock. This striking rock formation is located a couple hours off thewestern shore of San Cristobal. Jutting out of the water, the rocks stand vertically at hundreds of feet abovethe ocean divided by a small channel. Although there are no landing areas, kayaking and scuba diving allowvisitors to spot a variety of marine life.After visiting the interpretation center, you will be transferred to the San Cristobal airport to catch yourflight to Guayaquil or Quito on mainland Ecuador.
