Modern Comforts with Edwardian EleganceMaple Leaf’s interior is in harmony with her heritage: modern conveniences and good space design, melded with a decor that nods to her Edwardian past. Dining LoungeUnwind with books, journaling, and conversations in our cozy onboard library and dining lounge. We dine on deck or in this lounge, depending on the weather. GalleyFrom the tiny galley, Maple Leaf’s chefs produce incredible meals and snacks fresh each day. Enjoy fine meals and discussions about the day’s adventures with the crew and naturalist. Wheelhouse LoungeThe captain and first mate skillfully navigate and plan routes here. They’re happy to share insights and explain the systems. This space features natural history guidebooks and showcases mahogany and Douglas fir craftsmanship that shines throughout the vessel. Sleeping Areas & Heads (Bathrooms)The main cabin accommodates eight guests with divided sleeping areas, each featuring large comfortable beds, storage space, reading lamps, and cozy bedding. There are three washrooms with hot water showers. DecksMaple Leaf has lots of deck space, on which people may choose to sit and watch the coast’s scenery, chat with others, steer the ship, or have quiet time alone. Shore BoatsOur two zodiacs provide ample space and great access to explore along shorelines, up rivers, near wildlife colonies, and onto beaches.  KayaksWhile at anchor, enjoy one of our two single kayaks. The kayaks are stable and easy to use, with assistance from crew getting in and out.  Fishing TackleWe have fishing rods and lures ready for jigging. Obtain your fishing licence prior to your trip and take a turn at jigging for halibut or lingcod. Other EquipmentThe ship provides guidebooks, visual aids, and a hydrophone to listen to whale sounds, enhancing appreciation of local flora, fauna, and marine phenomena.

Day 1 - Days 1-3 Welcome Aboard!
Day 1: Board your ship and enter the Great Bear Rainforest, British Columbia, orientation, cruise into Fjordland, viewing spectacular mountains and waterfalls. Rainforest walk.Day 2: Visit great Fjordland river estuaries, wildflower meadows, and bear habitat. Possible bear viewing.Day 3: Visit the First Nations community of Klemtu, including a guided tour and conversations at the big house, as well as examples of First Nations artistry, culture, and architecture.
Day 2 - Days 4-6 Into Bear Country
Day 4: Mainland inlet, bear viewing, rainforest walk, waterfalls, inside passage cruising, hot springs visit.Day 5: Visit the coastal community, sail down whale channel, and view marine mammals, including whales and sea lions. Visit remote whale research station and speak with scientists. Cruise to west coast beach and explore.Day 6: Sailing the outer coast, exploring remote islands. Intertidal life, whales, seabirds, beaches.
Day 3 - Days 7-8 Coastal Exploration
Day 7: Exploring north coast wolf habitat, cruising from outer coast to inner coast, rainforest walk.Day 8: Cruising to Kitimat, wildlife viewing.
