Vineyards & Grands Crus

From $6,540 AUD

Description

With a brand new itinerary, we invite you to discover the famous wine-growing region of Bordeaux on a cruise that lies between vineyards and the ocean.

From Lisbon, you will set sail on board Le Soléal for a 9-day cruise on the theme of Gastronomy and Oenology.

From the port of Leixões, you will head to Porto. The capital of the Northern region, this “city of granite” is notably renowned for its wine but also for its remarkable historic centre listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Your next call, Bordeaux, in South-West France, is the world wine capital. You will be seduced by the region’s rich wine-making tradition as well as it its gastronomy and renowned specialities, such as the famous cannelé bordelais pastry.

Then you’ll call at the Île-d’Aix, the most southernmost of the Ponant Isles from which the company took its name. Listed as an ‘outstanding natural site’, it can be discovered only on foot or by bike: with its marshes, vineyards, sandy coves, cliffs and beaches, it offers an incredible diversity of landscapes.

Your voyage will draw to an end at Lorient, “the five port city”. Here you will admire its fortress, the largest of the 20th century, designed to house around twenty submarines and their crews.
