Glamorous Monte Carlo
Formula One races in its narrow streets; gambling in the world’s most famed casino; opulent productions in its opera house – people in Monte Carlo like to enjoy life to the full. Fancy a walk from Monaco’s harbour with its luxury yachts up the hill to the palace and cathedral? If you’d rather save your strength, you can simply take the escalator.

Provençal living in Aix
Its successful blend of baroque elegance and a lively student scene is one of the reasons why Aix-en-Provence ranks amongst France’s top five of the most popular places to live. Stroll under the old plane trees of the famous Cours Mirabeau for a taste of this Provençal capital’s history; its main boulevard is lined with small bistros and antique shops, elegant residences, fountains and boutiques.

The small port town of Collioure
A tiny chapel on the rock, a picturesque fortified church and the mighty Château Royal are the first sights to greet you as you approach this small port from the sea. Hutton in the 1930’s. The ship has played host to royalty, known service in wartime, and sailed the world over. She is a vessel of incomparable grace that harks back to the golden age of ship travel. Once you’ve been on Sea Cloud under full sail, you’ll begin your own love affair. Welcome aboard a legend Sea Cloud accommodates 58 guests in 28 outside cabins including two original owner’s suites that still feature original marble baths and fireplaces. At 360 feet she is an expansive ship with extensive public spaces on the top deck, where we luxuriate in deck chairs and watch the crew of 18 go aloft in the web of riggings to hand-set her 30 sails. Her dining room is hung with marine oil paintings of the period and accommodates all guests at once for a single seating. We’ll gather in the lounge each evening for Recap. Life aboard is a uniquely pleasing mix of elegance and informality—a return to the golden age of sailing in shorts and deck shoes. Day 1 - Day 1 Monte Carlo
The sophisticated Monegasque city state between Italy and France is one of the world's most exclusive addresses. Its densely packed buildings extend up the rocky coastline and gaze out over a gloriously azure sea, with three marinas where spectacular luxury yachts sway on the waves. In the centre, set high up, is the beautiful old city of Monaco-Ville with the splendid Prince's Palace, cathedral and Oceanographic Museum of Jacques Cousteau. In the centre of Monte Carlo you can find the famous casino, a beautiful Belle Epoque building, and the palatial opera house.

Day 5 - Day 5 Sanary-sur-Mer
For a time, the small idyllic port of Sanary was a charming and peaceful refuge for many artists. The list of famous names is long: Bertolt Brecht strummed his guitar in one of the harbour cafés and sang satirical songs; Stefan Zweig, the Mann family of writers and Jacques Cousteau all found what they were looking for here - to put some distance between themselves and the horror of the war. Aix-en-Provence, the birthplace of Paul Cézanne, seems to have been created with the aim of dedicating itself to the fine things in life. This lively university town, the historic capital of Provence, has always promoted the enjoyment of life through art.

Day 8 - Days 8 - 9 Barcelona
Barcelona revels in contrasts. Many enthuse over the beautiful elegant squares and boulevards, while others look for medieval romance in the Gothic quarter. Some love the artistic treasures in the Picasso Museum or the Joan Miró Foundation, but for most people Barcelona is the capital of Catalan Art Nouveau and its glory is epitomised in the spectacular Palau de la Música. At every turn you encounter the playfully opulent creations of architect Antonio Gaudi. His exuberant fantasies are evident in the numerous houses, idiosyncratic parks and the famous uncompleted Sagrada Familia cathedral which he created.

Day 10 - Days 11 - 12 Mahon/Menorca
Mahôn, the island's capital, has the largest natural harbour in the Mediterranean. The harbour of the former capital, Ciutadella, which translates as "tiny little town", has a picturesque setting on a fjord-like bay. It is one of the most beautiful cities in Spain and you will be enchanted by the narrow lanes in the old town, the majestic squares and the smart promenades. Menorca naturally has two sides - in the north is the wild mountain region of Tramuntana, with its ruggedly craggy coastline and hidden bays. In the south there are gentle hills with wide plains and seemingly endless sandy beaches. Listed as a Biosphere Reserve by UNESCO, Majorca's little sister is considerably quieter and more traditional.
Day 11 - Day 13 Palma de Mallorca
Majorca's beautiful capital is an elegant city and its picturesque old town and architectural mix of Arab, Catalan and Art Nouveau elements are part of its success story. In the centre you will be lured by shops behind splendid facades, and cafés and bars set on beautiful squares invite you to stay a while. Not far from the sophisticated marina you will find the dignified cathedral, affectionately known as "La Seu" for short. With pure Gothic beginnings, none other than Antonio Gaudi created part of its interior at the start of the 20th century.
Day 12 - Day 14 Ibiza City/Ibiza
Ibiza's motto is "live and let live". Artists, hedonists and the international jet set discovered the beauty of this Balearic island many years ago. The little island's character has a Moorish influence, which has given it the pseudonym of "the white island". The tidy old quarter in Ibiza Town, surrounded by huge fortified walls, has been carefully restored and, like the entire island, is under the protection of UNESCO. In contrast, the spectacular, sometimes wildly rugged island coastline with its innumerable bays and beaches shows the traditional side of Ibiza. The primordial backdrop is one of gentle hills cris-crossed with a scattering of fincas.
Day 13 - Day 15 Valencia
On one corner its centuries old and around the next totally modern - Valencia is everything all at once. Today the beautiful old town and the old silk market "La Lonja de la Seda", which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, still bear witness to the city's wealth in the Middle Ages. A brand new part of the city is situated in a drained river bed and has avant-garde buildings including a futuristic opera house, the largest aquarium in Europe, a botanical garden and a public park. Valencia is one of the few cities that has a heritage of over 2,000 years and is also so intriguingly combined with the future. And no other city in Europe can proudly make the claim that the America's Cup has already taken place twice right on its front door.
